Box Car Loop - Moab UT
The trail is a narrow, winding route through remote backcountry.
This lesser-known loop follows the western side of Hatch Wash (opposite Flat Iron Mesa, on the eastern side). The route passes near Box Car Arch at a distance. It traverses flat, open terrain before descending steeply on a winding road to canyons and washes below. Consider adding Kamikaze to extend the route if time permits. The area suits ATVs and UTVs. Trails are marked by SPEAR (San Juan Public Entry and Access Rights), an organization dedicated to protecting OHV access. Adhere to marked routes.
Rating Difficult
Most of the route ranges from easy to moderate; however, two sections have increased in difficulty. These involve very steep climbs over loose, rocky ledges. The trail is not recommended for stock SUVs.
