Cave Canyon - Beaver UT
Cave Canyon Ascent & Scenic Overlook Ride (Intermediate, 60 miles, All Widths)
Staging: Beaver, UT
This beautiful ride takes you deep into Cave Canyon for a stunning climb through changing ecosystems and rewarding panoramic views.
You’ll ascend from classic pinyon-juniper foothills, through lush mahogany groves and shimmering stands of aspen, all the way up to a spectacular scenic overlook at the top. From there, the views are incredible — sweeping vistas of the valley below, the majestic Tushar Mountain Range to the east, Cherry Creek, and the rugged southern peaks of the Mineral Mountains.
The route mixes county roads and two-track roads with some narrow mining roads and tighter trail sections. You’ll ride through lower sagebrush country before climbing into pinyon-juniper hills and then into mahogany and aspen as you follow the narrow trail up Cave Canyon. Along the way, expect numerous rugged wash crossings and a few moderately difficult hill climbs that add just the right touch of excitement.
It’s a well-rounded, highly enjoyable ride that delivers great scenery, varied terrain, and that satisfying “top-of-the-world” feeling when you reach the overlook.
