You’ll enjoy a guided tour of the beautifully restored pioneer fort, complete with a short movie that brings the story to life — a must-see for any history buff. The fort also offers daily tours, shaded picnic areas, and restrooms, making it the perfect mid-ride stop. Beyond the fort, the route delivers plenty of stunning scenery and sweeping vistas as you ride the foothills of the impressive Tushar Mountains. A standout section is Pine Creek Canyon, where you’ll make multiple fun stream crossings along a creek lined with tall cottonwoods — always a highlight. The ride mixes county roads and two-track roads with some narrow mining roads and tighter trail sections. You’ll start in classic sagebrush country, then climb through pinyon-juniper hills into mahogany and aspen groves as you ascend Cave Canyon on a narrow trail. Expect numerous rugged wash crossings and a few moderately difficult hill climbs that add just the right amount of challenge.
