Twist creek - Beaver UT
Tushar Mountains High Country Escape (Intermediate to Advanced, 40 miles, 50" ONLY)
Staging: Beaver, UT
Craving a true high-alpine adventure? This ride takes you deep into the stunning Tushar Mountains inside Fishlake National Forest — exactly what so many riders have been asking for!
You’ll start out on smooth graded county roads leaving Beaver, then quickly transition onto rugged two-track roads and classic jeep trails that climb higher and higher. Soon you’re immersed in a beautiful 50-inch-wide ATV trail winding through lush forests of mahogany, spruce, and shimmering aspen groves, opening up into peaceful grassy meadows bursting with wildflowers.
The entire ride sits above 9,000 feet, delivering crisp mountain air, sweeping views, and that incredible high-country feeling. Mid-ride, we stop for lunch at a small, pristine alpine lake — the perfect peaceful spot to refuel and soak in the scenery.
The return leg drops down Kane Canyon along a rocky creek bed that adds real excitement with water crossings, tight spots, and rugged terrain. Expect several steep hill climbs and rough, off-camber rocky sections that keep experienced riders grinning. While much of the ride feels enjoyable and flowing, those challenging stretches earn this one an Intermediate to Advanced rating — definitely not recommended for beginners or timid riders.
Note: Because of the high elevation, this ride can be affected by lingering winter snowpack — best ridden mid-to-late summer when the trails are clear and dry.
If you love narrow trails, big elevation, forest scenery, and a solid challenge, this popular Tushar ride is a must-do!
