Chocolate Drop House - Beaver - Beaver CO UT
Chocolate Drop House & Granite Peak Loop (Easy, 76 miles, All Widths)
Staging: New Trailhead at Main Street & 600 N, Beaver, UT
This easy, scenic mountain loop is one of our favorites for a relaxed full-day adventure. The ride takes you to the fascinating Chocolate Drop House (also known as the Rock Cabin), a unique structure built in the early 1900s by a skilled craftsman. The entire cabin is tucked inside a hollowed-out section of a massive boulder — it’s a true engineering marvel and a must-see photo stop!
From there, the route loops around impressive Granite Peak and returns to Beaver. The full loop is 76 miles and typically takes about 4.5 hours of moving time, so plan on a full day to enjoy the ride at a comfortable pace. Along the way you’ll pass several reservoirs perfect for exploring, plus plenty of great spots to pull over for a picnic or just soak in the views.
The terrain consists mostly of well-maintained dirt roads, making it very approachable. (We’ve run this comfortably in a 4-seat Polaris Ranger.) There are also numerous opportunities to branch off and explore side trails on the mountain, with campsites and picnic areas scattered throughout.
After the ride, Beaver offers every amenity you need — gas, lodging, restaurants, and more — right in town.
Difficulty: Easy
Distance: 76 miles (full loop)
Machine Width: All widths welcome (great for UTVs too)
Trailhead: Newly constructed trailhead at Main Street & 600 N, Beaver, UT
